Now, I enjoy (good) anime just as much as the next fan, but to truly enjoy a manga-into-anime show...

Always give manga priority!!! You'll get the real story without any filler-fluff thrown in.

YES, I agree! XD I always read the manga before I start with the anime. I started doing that because I always heard from everyone the manga is way better and I'm really glad I listened =D
(I was like HUH? when someone called Chobits a comedy... Like, seriously? :XD:)

I do agree, but sometimes I like the anime more than the manga because they do the opposite of what you've said - they make it shorter.

Case in point: Fullmetal Alchemist, Gravitation.

Yeah, I've just learnt over time to read manga before looking at the anime! :heart:

(Chobits a comedy?...Romance, yes...but...whatever that person is on, I want some. :XD:)

Yeah, me too ^^ I don't think I'm gonna try and do that with Naruto too, though. I don't think I have the patience of going through the whole storyline again in the manga XD

Yes, a comedy... I didn't get it either, but that must've been I haven't seen the anime yet... I mean, Chobits can be funny at times (Hideki got called a n00b! XDDD), but the storyline's more interesting than the humor XD
(Oh umm... Sorry, I don't even know if you'd read the series... ^^;)
